• Your amateur radio callsign (used as your username)
• Email address
• Password (stored securely using bcrypt hashing)
• Maidenhead locator of your station

b) ADIF Upload Data

• 4-character grid squares (e.g., NK99)
• Band and mode (e.g., 20m, FT8)
• QSO date
• Worked station callsign
• Your station callsign (must match your account)

We do NOT store full QSO logs, frequencies, signal reports, or any other data not required for award tracking.

c) Technical Data

• IP address (for security and abuse prevention)
• Browser type and version
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring site

This data is collected via server logs and is anonymized where possible.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Verify your identity and prevent fraudulent accounts
• Calculate worked grids and fields for award eligibility
• Generate and issue digital certificates (Elite, Gold, etc.)
• Allow you to view and download your awards
• Improve site functionality and user experience
• Send password reset emails (only when requested)
• Detect and prevent abuse or violations of our terms

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Nor will it be provided to any person unless legally obliged to.

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — never stored in plain text
• Database connections use SSL/TLS encryption
• Access to admin functions is restricted and logged

We retain your account and QSO data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• All personal data (email, callsign, locator) is permanently deleted
• Grid pair records are anonymized (user_id removed)
• Award certificates remain publicly viewable (by award number and security code) unless you request removal

We do NOT share your personal information with third parties, except:

• With your explicit consent
• To comply with legal obligations (e.g., court order)
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of DigiGrids or its users

Award certificates are publicly accessible via a unique URL and QR code for verification purposes. These contain only your callsign, band, award type, and date — no email or private data.
